Statistics and Informatics Science
Statistics is the science of learning from data. Enormous volumes of data from new technology bring challenge and opportunity to Statistics. From 2008, the statistics and information division in the department of Applied Mathematics begins to become a new department. Combing the statistical methodologies, scientific computing and information technology, Statistics and information science extracts the meaningful knowledge from the large-scaled and complicated data, and consequently provides reasonable information for prediction and decision-making.
